Hard to Find Shoe Sizes - Who Else Wants Them?

If your feet are large or wide (or small or narrow), finding shoes to fit used to be a problem. Even if you could find shoes in a brick-and-mortar store which did fit, the styles may not suit you, since the range of shoes available in your size is usually limited.

One of the advantages of the Internet that I love is that the range of shoes available to people like us is now huge. You are no longer restricted to buying what your local shoe store has available: if a large or wide shoe is actually being made in the style or in the brand you want, you will be able to get it (I recommend some stores below).

Some people still worry about the idea of buying shoes online - don't you actually have to try them on, to see if they are comfortable? Buying shoes online which you have not worn does seem strange the first time, but all shoe stores let you return them for a refund or an exchange if they don't fit.

In addition, you could always buy the size, brand and style of shoes you wear already, at the online store, so that you can be fairly sure they will be a comfortable fit. Often the online price will be less than what you would pay in your local shoe store anyway, and you can take advantage of online sales and specials if you look hard enough.

If you are concerned about how to return shoes you don't like or don't fit well, most online shoe stores have an easy returns policy - you just fill out the return form which comes with the shoes, and use the label provided to post the package back.

Another area that people worry about when I recommend buying their hard to find shoe sizes this way is the delivery time - how long does it actually take from the time you pay for your shoes at an online store until they are delivered to your door? Most of the top online shoe stores now ship within 24 hours, with weekend orders going out on Mondays. You will usually be emailed when your order has been sent out.
