Brake Shoes

Brake Shoes

Braking system is the most crucial part of any automotive application, specially so in the Heavy Duty Trucks & Trailers or Buses. For Heavy Duty Trucks and Trailers the Casted Brake Shoes are used, as they have the required strength to undergo the kind of pressure exerted in applying brakes to a vehicle loaded with 80 to 100 tonne load. These Brake Shoes have to bear a high friction level and the resulting heat generated in the process. For light duty vehicles the Fabricated Brake Shoes can be used. Both these kind of Brake Shoes are lined with Brake Linings.

Asbestos Brake Linings are made from a mixture of chemicals which includes asbestos besides other chemicals. The Asbestos Free Linings or Non Asbestos Linings are also made from chemicals but their mix does not contain asbestos in the mix. Both these kinds of Linings are available in three different forms. The First form is called Segmented B/ Linings, the second form is called Roll Linings or B/ Linings in Rolls, whereas, the third variety is called Wooven B/ Linings or Industrial Brake Linings.

The roll Linings are available in Wire Back reinforced quality and without wire quality. The Wooven B/Linings are used for Heaviest of Braking Applications and are available in lengths of 15 Metre Rolls. The Roll Linings on the other hand are available in 5 Metre or 10 Metre rolls depending upon the size of the Brake Lining in Rolls. These brake linings are pasted or riveted to the Brake Shoe depending upon the force that is going to be applied in the braking process.
